"Dead Level are great. I have used the service for TVs, mirrors and pictures. Highly recommended."-- Mansoor, South Logan
Brisbane's Picture & Mirror Hanging Specialists
We started Dead Level mounting TVs -- but customers kept asking us to hang their pictures, mirrors, and gallery walls while we were on site. It made sense: same tools, same precision, same care. Now picture and mirror hanging is a full part of what we do.
Whether it's a single framed print, a heavy bevelled mirror over the dining table, or a 12-piece gallery wall that needs to be laid out from scratch, we'll get it on the wall straight, secure, and at the right height -- the first time.
What We Hang
- Framed pictures and prints -- any size, any frame style.
- Mirrors -- from bathroom vanity mirrors to large statement pieces (we use rated wall anchors for anything over 10 kg).
- Gallery walls -- we lay out the spacing, mark, and hang. No guesswork.
- Heavy art and canvases -- including pieces that need two-stud or French cleat fixings.
- Floating shelves, hooks, towel rails and curtain rods -- happy to do small jobs while we're on site.
Why Choose Dead Level?
- Right hardware on every van: stud finders, laser levels, masonry bits, rated anchors, French cleats -- no trips to Bunnings mid-job.
- Plaster, brick, render, tile: we hang on every wall type Brisbane homes throw at us.
- $20M public liability: fully insured for residential and commercial work.
- Same-week bookings across Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, and Redlands.

Picture & Mirror Hanging - Common Questions
The standard rule is the centre of the artwork sits around 145–150 cm from the floor -- that's eye level for most adults standing. Above furniture (a sofa, console, sideboard), aim to leave a 15–25 cm gap between the top of the furniture and the bottom of the frame so the piece looks anchored rather than floating. For mirrors above a vanity or fireplace, we work from the fixed feature underneath. We mock the position with painter's tape before drilling so you can see it before we commit.
Yes. For mirrors and art under about 10 kg we use rated hollow-wall anchors (toggles or Snaptoggles). For anything heavier -- large bevelled mirrors, big canvas pieces, anything where a fall would do real damage -- we anchor into the timber studs behind the plasterboard using a stud finder, or use a French cleat spanning two studs. We never rely on the picture-wire hooks that come with cheap mirrors for anything weighty.
Yes -- gallery walls are one of our favourite jobs. Bring your frames and we'll lay them out on the floor first, work the spacing (usually 5–8 cm between frames), then mark and hang. We use paper templates for larger walls so you can see the layout on the wall before any holes go in. Most 6–10 piece galleries take around 60–90 minutes.
Yes -- every van carries a full kit of picture hooks, D-rings, hanging wire, French cleats, plaster anchors, masonry fixings and toggle bolts. The hardware is included in the per-piece price. If your frame needs a specific hanger we don't carry, we'll mention it before booking.
Yes. We carry masonry drill bits and rated anchors for brick and rendered walls. For tile (bathroom mirrors, splashbacks) we use a diamond-tip drill bit and tile-rated anchors to avoid cracking. These jobs take a little longer than plasterboard work but the result is rock solid.
Single piece: around 15–25 minutes on site including positioning and clean-up. Gallery walls (6–10 pieces) take 60–90 minutes. We allow extra time for large mirrors or wall types that need masonry drilling.
Picture and mirror hanging is fast once we're on site, but driving across Brisbane, parking, and setting up takes the same time whether you have one frame or ten. The $117 minimum covers our callout so we can keep per-item prices low. The smart move is to bundle -- have a few pictures, a mirror or two, maybe a TV or some shelves, all done in the same visit.
Yes. Bathroom mirrors usually go onto tile or render. We use diamond-tip bits where needed and tile-rated anchors, and we seal around fixings with silicone so moisture doesn't get behind. We can also remove and re-hang an existing mirror if you're swapping it out.
Yes -- TV installation is what we started doing, and most picture-hanging customers add a TV mount to the booking. Pricing and bookings for TV installation live on our main site: deadlevel.com.au.
